Offtopic: The Printed Life
Last Feb 9, Cozyreads Publishing formally launched their first book HEARTBREAK. Read it here and see pics from the event. I had to laugh on how they described Sally Magdiwang -- she must really be into cloaks and daggers. (She'd fail miserably if given a witness protection program.)On other things, the editor from Philippine Genre Stories emailed the other day to confirm the inclusion of my story in PGS Issue 3. The digest would be released around June when school starts. Now whether it's "His Majesty's Cleaning Lady", or "TWINSPEAK", I don't know yet. I've written both stories near Christmas 2005 to early last year 2006 and now I think di ko na sila feel. HMCL is like Bridget Jones meets Narnia (sort of), while TWINSPEAK is a story about luck told by a pair of Twins Ryan and Rina, both in the 1st person. (1st person stories I feel, are the easiest to write...). In terms of editing, I think I need to hack off a lot to quicken the pacing. I just hope I do a good job. Getting published is like getting onstage at American Idol and facing a score of Simon Cowells. I am scared and excited at the same time.
There's only one story I'm hoping to see print soon, and that's "The Annotated Account of Tholomew Mestich and the Tiles of the Ganew." It still is my favorite baby.
